Boston Calling Announces 2017 Lineup

After three years at Boston’s City Hall Plaza, Boston Calling Music Festival announced its move to Harvard’s Athletic Complex last May. This news led to New England music fans waiting in bated breath for the announcement of more acts than what was previously possible in the smaller setting of City Hall Plaza – and Boston Calling did not disappoint.

Boston Calling will bring big names Chance the Rapper, Mumford & Sons, and Tool to the Boston area. As Aaron Dessner, the Founding Curator of Boston Calling’s lineup, says, “[the] relocation will allow [Boston Calling] to expand the capacity, range, and diversity of the festival’s programming, adding additional performance spaces and cultivating a unique multi-disciplinary profile for the festival.” This can be seen in the variety of acts, ranging from rap duos to DJs, R&B to ‘90s rock.

Day 1, Friday, May 26th, will see Grammy-winner Chance the Rapper and Bon Iver as headliners. Saturday, May 27th, brings Mumford & Sons and The XX to the stage. The final day, Sunday, May 28th, will bring Tool, Major Lazer, and Weezer in as the closers.
