I was initially drawn to this event because my favorite producer in the world, Paul Kalkbrenner, was performing. He rarely comes to the US, and although I’ve had the fortunate experience to see him here twice in my lifespan, I would travel in a heartbeat to see him. Attending this set was definitely one of the highlights of my year.

The entire lineup was wonderful though, and I enjoyed the music all night long. I liked the large screens projecting what was happening on stage for when I wasn’t close enough to see. Each set was unique and brought a different sound. The venue is one of my favorites, as they seriously have everything together. (AKA the most efficient coat check ever and friendly security.) The fact they had food available was also a huge perk.
I was able to interview SOEL in advance, and he talked about his performance, launching ORACOLO Records, his debut album, and advice for aspiring artists to be signed and run a label of their own.
